Royal Mail issues Peppa Pig stamps for 20th anniversary
Royal Mail has released a series of stamps celebrating the 20th anniversary of the animated series Peppa Pig. The stamps, available from May 16, feature 12 collectible designs: eight depict Peppa with her family (brother George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig) and four show friends Zoë Zebra and Suzy Sheep at a birthday party. Created by Neville Astley and Philip Hall in 2004, the show premiered on May 31, 2004 in the UK. Produced by Astley Baker Davies, it airs in over 180 countries and has more than 360 episodes across nine seasons. The series targets preschoolers with simple, humorous stories teaching friendship and kindness. Last year, it sparked controversy for featuring its first lesbian couple.
