Royal Ballet star Marianela Núñez finally gets her own show Timeless
Marianela Núñez, the principal dancer of the Royal Ballet hailing from Argentina, will showcase her production Timeless at the Royal Opera House in London from 29 July to 2 August. Dubbed the 'Messi of ballet' in her homeland, Núñez relocated from Buenos Aires to England at 15 and has been part of the Royal Ballet for 28 years. At 44, she is finally unveiling her own show, having never employed an agent, a stark contrast to many leading dancers today. The program features Jerome Robbins' In the Night and Frederick Ashton's Marguerite and Armand, with partners Vadim Muntagirov, Matthew Ball, William Bracewell, and Patricio Revé. Núñez, who named her cat after Lionel Messi, likens her devotion to ballet to Messi's passion for football, asserting, "Just give me my ballet shoes and I'm in love." She maintains that there is "no expiry date" for her career despite her age.
