Royal Academy to revisit Peggy Guggenheim's London gallery in major exhibition
From November 21, 2026, until March 14, 2027, London’s Royal Academy of Arts will host ‘Peggy Guggenheim in London: The Making of a Collector.’ The exhibit revisits Guggenheim Jeune, her gallery on Cork Street, operational for a brief period from 1938 to 1939. During this time, over 20 exhibitions showcased prominent artists, such as Vasily Kandinsky and Jean Cocteau. The exhibition will present works by artists including Barbara Hepworth and Salvador Dalí, with notable pieces like Lucian Freud's ‘Old Man Running.' Following its display in London, the exhibition will move to New York’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in 2027.
