Rossella Biscotti installs permanent work in Parabita's underground olive mills

In the Salento area of Puglia, the town of Parabita is progressing with its public art initiative through the "Ipogea" project, overseen by curator Carmelo Cipriani and director Giovanni Lamorgese. Following Francesco Arena's "La Grotta" set for 2025, Rossella Biscotti, born in Molfetta in 1978, has unveiled "L'uomo che cammina all'indietro" within an ancient olive oil mill. This installation, which is associated with lamp oil production, features a stone millstone at the beginning of the "Votiva" path, a project from 2024 that includes works from various artists. Biscotti's piece incorporates a brass inscription honoring her great-grandfather, blending techniques of millstone grinding and rope-making. Located on Via Bartolo Ravenna, it reflects mayor Stefano Prete's commitment to maintaining public art.
