Rossella Biscotti and Kevin van Braak Tour Belgrade and Ljubljana with 'T' Exhibition
Italian artist Rossella Biscotti and Dutch artist Kevin van Braak present a collaborative exhibition titled 'T' across Belgrade and Ljubljana from December to March. The project is curated by Zoran Erić at the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade and the Museum of Yugoslavia – House of Flowers, running until January 23. In Ljubljana, the show moves to Škuc Gallery from February 3 to March 3, co-curated by Erić and Vladimir Vidmar. The artists have worked together for about a decade, starting in Cape Town in 2005, focusing on the relationship between history and memory in architecture through political and social context. The exhibition title 'T' references key concepts in their practice: time, transformation, translation, and totalitarianism. In Belgrade, the duo previously produced the series 'Josip Broz Tito' in 2014 as part of the international project 'La violenza invisibile,' creating seven bronze cubes matching the weight and materials of Tito portraits by Yugoslav sculptor Antun Augustinčić (1900-1979). These sculptures were recovered by Belgrade artist Dragan Srdic from a demolition site and used in his project exhibited in 'The Anatomy Lesson' at the Cultural Center of Belgrade in 2000. Biscotti and van Braak's work emphasizes artistic mediation and continuous rethinking of memory and identity.
