Rosie Cooper named director of Wysing Arts Centre
Rosie Cooper, who is presently the head of exhibitions at De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, has been named the new director of Wysing Arts Centre located in rural Cambridgeshire. This ten-acre venue is recognized for its residency program and offers a variety of events, including exhibitions, workshops, symposia, conferences, and music performances. The position had been unfilled since the passing of Donna Lynas in January 2025, who held the role for fifteen years. Cooper's curatorial accomplishments include 'Still I Rise: Feminisms, Gender, Resistance Acts 1-3' (with Irene Aristizábal and Cédric Fauq), and 'How Chicago! Imagists 1960s & 70s' (with Sarah McCrory). She previously worked as head of programmes at Liverpool Biennial until 2016 and was a curator at Barbican Art Gallery. Cooper remarked, "I see Wysing as a beacon for the freewheeling, radical imagination..."
