Rosemarie Fiore's Firework Drawings at Priska C. Juschka Fine Art through May 16

The exhibition 'Pyrotechnics' by Rosemarie Fiore, hosted at Priska C. Juschka Fine Art, showcases seven large Firework Drawings created using live fireworks, available for viewing until May 16. These dynamic pieces, displayed on heavyweight Fabriano Murillo paper, exhibit vibrant overlapping color disks, with scorch marks prominently seen in the seven-foot-wide Firework Drawing #7. Over the past eight years, Fiore has utilized her Bronx backyard for these performances. The artwork draws inspiration from both fireworks and celestial events. Firework Drawing #10 features collaged flower-like clusters, while the four-foot-wide Firework Drawing #26 showcases ochre and copper bands. At under 40, Fiore continues to push boundaries through her performative techniques, linking to the traditions of painting machines and landscapes, and employs UV-filtering mediums for preservation.
