Roobina Karode Curates India Pavilion at 2019 Venice Biennale
Roobina Karode is leading the curation for the Indian Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale, set to run from May 11 to November 24. This year's exhibition, named 'Our Time For A Future Caring,' pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary, showcasing the works of notable artists, including Nandalal Bose, Atul Dodiya, and Shakuntala Kulkarni. Karode noted the complexities involved in establishing a national pavilion while appreciating the freedom of individual presentations. India's involvement in the Biennale began in 2011, and it previously co-hosted a pavilion with Pakistan in 2015.
