Ron Gorchov presents new monumental works at Cheim & Read, demonstrating his ability to create distinctive forms without repetition. The exhibition features large-scale paintings on his signature saddle or shield-shaped sculptural supports, alongside vertical stacks of fan-shaped ellipses. These works are described as lively, diverse, and energized, capable of conveying a wide range of emotions. The show includes the 2016 painting 'Bertilak,' executed in oil on linen measuring 35 x 45 x 9 inches. Located at 547 West 25th Street, the exhibition runs through March 25. Critic David Cohen, writing in 2006/17, noted that Gorchov's artistic idioms possess the flexibility of a sonnet, avoiding confinement to a single mood or message.
