Ron Arad designs poster for Barcolana 2021 in Trieste
The 53rd Barcolana, recognized as the largest sailing regatta globally, is set to take place in Trieste on October 10, 2021, with activities commencing on October 1. This event, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and sponsor Generali, is returning after being canceled last year due to the Bora wind. The 2018 regatta drew more than 300,000 spectators. The race features a 13-nautical-mile course, beginning at 10:30 AM, with the theme "Nuove Rotte" (New Routes), emphasizing participation, innovation, sustainability, and gender equality. The official poster, designed by Ron Arad, showcases a minimalist aesthetic with flowing lines, capturing the regatta's spirit, according to Mitja Gialuz, president of Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano.
