Romics 2023: Rome's Premier Comic Festival Returns with Superman Poster by Gabriele Dell'Otto

The 31st edition of Romics, Rome's major comic festival, will take place from October 5 to 8, 2023, at Fiera Roma. Over 350 exhibitors will occupy five pavilions across 700,000 square meters, featuring comics, gaming, animation, and cinema. The official poster, created by Gabriele Dell'Otto for DC Comics and Panini Comics, depicts Superman flying over the Colosseum. Artistic director Sabrina Perucca praised the poster. Three artists will receive the Romics d'Oro award: Roberto Diso (known for Tex, Nathan Never, Dragonero) on October 7, Declan Shalvey (Deadpool) on October 8, and Richard Anderson (Marvel, Warner Bros, Disney) also on October 8. Exhibitions include a retrospective on Declan Shalvey titled 'Declan Shalvey. Storyteller Spaziale' featuring 11 plates from Injection and 20 original drawings from Old Dog; a show celebrating Superman's 85th anniversary in collaboration with DC Comics and Warner Bros; and 'Alla lavagna! 30 anni di Scuola Romana dei Fumetti' showcasing large-format works by teachers from the 1990s to today.
