Romeo Castellucci and Mario Banushi Open FOG 2026 at Triennale Milano

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

The ninth edition of the FOG Performing Arts festival opened at Triennale Milano with two installations by Romeo Castellucci and Mario Banushi. Castellucci's new work, 'Credere alle maschere', is a performance-installation where audience members are given masks and watch a projection of words that do not correspond to objects brought on stage by attendants, including a glass of milk, a stuffed fox, a crucifix, a photograph of Stan Laurel, and an electric chair. The piece, produced by Triennale Milano Teatro with Vienna Festival, Grec Festival Barcelona, and Transart Bolzano, explores the disconnection between reality and perception. Mario Banushi, winner of the Silver Lion at the 2026 Venice Biennale Teatro, presented 'Mami', a wordless performance about the figure of the mother, inspired by his own biological mother and grandmother. The show features a house, a bed, bicycles, a bathtub, and a photograph of Banushi's mother, creating evocative tableaux vivants.
