Rome's Summer of Contemporary Art and Archaeology Unveiled

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

Starting in June and running through November 2016, Rome will roll out 'Par tibi, Roma, nihil,' a six-month event that blends modern art with the city’s rich archaeological history. Announced on April 28 at the Stadio di Domiziano, this initiative is a joint effort involving several key organizations like the Soprintendenza Speciale for the Colosseum, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Nomas Foundation, and Electa. Raffaella Frascarelli is curating, featuring works from Kader Attia, Daniel Buren, and Sislej Xhafa, plus 25 artists from the Sciarretta collection. Key locations include the Colosseum and Villa Medici. The lineup also features performances like Alessandro Baricco’s 'Palamede' from July 4-9, with Minister Dario Franceschini praising it as a model for enhancing heritage.
