Rome's Palazzo delle Esposizioni Launches Three Science-Art Stations

Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome will host 'Tre stazioni per Arte-Scienza' from October 11, 2021 to February 27, 2022, a tripartite exhibition exploring the intersection of art, science, and society. The three 'stations' include 'La scienza di Roma. Passato, presente e futuro di una città' (historical perspective), 'Ti con zero' (artistic), and 'Incertezza. Interpretare il presente, prevedere il futuro' (physics and scientific research). The project is organized by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, with INFN Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare designing 'Incertezza' and Polo museale della Sapienza Università di Roma contributing to 'La scienza di Roma'. Studio Formafantasma (Simone Farresin and Andrea Trimarchi), winners of the 2020 Dezeen Awards Designer of the Year, designed the exhibition environments. The initiative aims to transcend traditional exhibition models by blending disciplines and incorporating pedagogical and performative elements. A digital program, workshops, conferences, and film screenings will accompany the shows. Organizers emphasize the project's relevance amid climate change and the pandemic, framing the 'station' concept as a metaphor for transformation from 19th-century mobility to contemporary stasis (quarantine, remote work).
