Rome's Hdrà Launches Employee-Voted Art Prize
Hdrà, a leading Italian integrated communications firm whose clients include Alitalia, Raicinema, Enel, Pirelli, Poste Italiane, and Coca Cola, has launched the first edition of the 'L'Arte che Accadrà' acquisition prize in Rome. Uniquely, the winning artwork will be chosen by the company's approximately 100 employees rather than executives or advisors. Curator Valentina Ciarallo selected a shortlist of five works from ten artists, focusing on media ranging from painting to installation that relate to communication. The finalists are Flavio Favelli's neon work 'Bud Light', Ludovica Gioscia's installation 'Debrocks' made from magazine covers, Goldschmied & Chiari's mirror pieces 'Untitled Views', Alice Schivardi's 'Coccinelle', and Marco Raparelli's drawing-based installation. The exhibition runs from October 18 to December 18, 2016, at Palazzo Fiano, Hdrà's headquarters, and is open to employees and visitors by appointment. The prize marks the beginning of Hdrà's contemporary art collection, built democratically through employee votes.
