Rome's First Art & Data Festival Launches with Salvatore Iaconesi and Oriana Persico

The first edition of HER She Loves San Lorenzo, a festival blending art and data, debuts in Rome's San Lorenzo district. Founded by Salvatore Iaconesi and Oriana Persico of the HER research center (Human Ecosystems Relazioni), the festival is described as "hyperlocal," prioritizing proximity-based relationships. It moves across venues including HER's headquarters, Galleria Rossmut, RUFA Space at Pastificio Cerere, Esc Atelier, and Cinema Palazzo. A highlight is the performance "Bodyquake" by artist Francesca Fini, which visualizes and sonifies epilepsy seizure data from the Neuromed institute. Iaconesi, a robotic engineer, served on AGID's AI Task Force, contributing to the white paper published March 21, which introduced an "aesthetic challenge" emphasizing transdisciplinary approaches. Philosopher Aldo Masullo contributed a video on AI ethics, premiering at the festival. The event aims to establish a permanent "Art and Data Hub" with a Mediterranean and European focus.
