Rome Quadriennale Confirmed for October 2020 Despite Pandemic

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The 2020 edition of the Quadriennale di Roma is set to take place as scheduled in October, as confirmed by President Umberto Croppi. Opening on October 1 at Palazzo delle Esposizioni, the exhibition will adhere to health regulations. Curators Sarah Cosulich and Stefano Collicelli Cagol plan to feature around forty artists from the 1960s to the present, utilizing 4,000 square meters to emphasize contemporary research and transgenerational connections. Cesare Pietroiusti, President of Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, expresses hope that it will be among the first significant exhibitions to resume. The event receives funding from the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Mibact, though budget constraints due to fundraising challenges require flexibility. Supporting artist discovery will be parallel projects Q-Rated and Q-International.
