Roman Gallery Galleria Lombardi Opens Second Location in Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Galleria Lombardi, founded in Rome in 1977 by Enrico Lombardi from a family of gallerists active since the 1960s, has opened a new branch in Milan at Viale Monte Nero 38, in the Porta Romana district. The expansion is a partnership with Claudio Bertino and Alessandro Biffanti. The inaugural exhibition, “Immaginario collettivo,” opens March 20, 2025, and runs until April 19, 2025, featuring 20 works by post-war Italian artists from Rome and Milan. The show includes Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, Giosetta Fioroni, Sergio Lombardo, Mimmo Rotella, Mario Schifano, members of Forma 1 (Carla Accardi, Piero Dorazio, Antonio Sanfilippo, Giulio Turcato), Spatialists (Agostino Bonalumi, Enrico Castellani, Roberto Crippa), Rodolfo Aricò, Enrico Baj, Arte Povera artists Mario Ceroli and Michelangelo Pistoletto, Emilio Scanavino, and Vincenzo Agnetti. Critic Ilaria D’Ambrosi wrote the catalog essay, describing the selection as a dialogue between Roman and Milanese artists active after World War II. Gallerist Lorenzo Lombardi cited many Milan-based clients who rarely travel to Rome as motivation for the expansion. Future exhibitions will include a solo show for Turcato, followed by shows dedicated to Baj, Castellani, and Bonalumi, then contemporary artists like Frangi.
