festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The 33rd edition of Romaeuropa Festival, titled 'Between Worlds,' was announced in Rome with a press conference featuring Onofrio Cutaia (Director General of Entertainment, Mibact), Albino Ruberti (Chief of Staff, Lazio Region), Luca Bergamo (Deputy Mayor of Rome), Monique Veaute (President of Fondazione Romaeuropa), and Fabrizio Grifasi (General and Artistic Director). The festival runs in 2018 across multiple venues including Maxxi, Mattatoio, Pelanda, Teatro Argentina, and Palazzo Barberini. It features 60 companies from 24 nationalities, 40 of which are first-time participants, from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. The program is divided into three paths: stories, visions, and sounds, with sections Digitalive (curated by Federica Patti), Anni Luce (Maura Teofili), Dancing Days (Francesca Manica), Ref Kids (Stefania Lo Giudice), and Community (Lara Mastrantonio, Massimo Pasquini, Matteo Antonaci). Notably, the festival will host six cultural events in Amatrice, Accumoli, and Cittareale, areas affected by the 2016 earthquake, as part of a collaboration with the Lazio Region. Grifasi emphasized the theme as a response to social and territorial divisions, while Veaute highlighted international participation. Cutaia praised the festival's innovative use of public funds, and Bergamo stressed the collaboration between the Region and the City of Rome.
