Roma's Ex-Caserma Guido Reni regeneration to include Science Museum
The regeneration of Rome's ex-Caserma Guido Reni in the Flaminio district is set to begin, with demolitions starting in October 2026. The 5-hectare site, abandoned since 2019, will be transformed into a mixed-use urban district by COIMA SGR and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP). The project includes housing, retail, a hotel, green spaces, and the new Museo della Scienza, designed by Roman studio ADAT. Two existing buildings will be preserved for a library and civic center managed by the Comune di Roma. The total investment is €400 million, with participation from Eagle Hills of Abu Dhabi. The construction is expected to take five years, with operational phase starting in 2029. COIMA is also restoring Galleria Sciarra, with a ten-month project beginning June 3, 2026.
