Rolex Named Official Timepiece of Serpentine Pavilion from 2026

institutional · 2026-05-20

Serpentine has revealed a new long-term alliance with Rolex, designating the Swiss watchmaker as the Official Timepiece of the Serpentine Pavilion starting in 2026. This partnership kicks off with support for this year's Pavilion, crafted by LANZA atelier (Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo). By aligning with a program that has continually advanced architectural innovation in public spaces, Rolex enhances its Perpetual Arts Initiative. Arnaud Boetsch, Rolex's Director of Communication and Image, remarked, "The Serpentine Pavilion each year highlights the significance of fresh ideas in garnering public interest in architecture." Bettina Korek and Hans Ulrich Obrist noted this collaboration as "a significant new chapter for the Pavilion Commission," underscoring its status as a major architectural and cultural landmark. Since 2014, Rolex has championed architectural creativity through its support of the International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, collaborating with renowned architects such as Michael Graves, Fumihiko Maki, SANAA, Kengo Kuma, and Sir David Chipperfield. Additionally, the brand operated a mentorship program for two decades, connecting emerging talents with established architects like Álvaro Siza, Kazuyo Sejima, Peter Zumthor, Sir David Chipperfield, and Anne Lacaton.
