Rolando Anselmi opens artist residency in Rome

Berlin-based gallerist Rolando Anselmi, who opened a second space in his native Rome in 2020, has launched an artist residency in the city. Located on the second floor of a building at Via di Tor Fiorenza, the new space is exclusively dedicated to a residency program. It features an open studio with views of Villa Ada park, a kitchen, and two independent bedrooms for guests. Artists are selected by invitation only and receive continuous support from the gallery throughout their stay. Open studios will facilitate dialogue with Italian art professionals. At the end of the residency, the studio converts into an exhibition space for a public show. The first invited artist is Czech painter Adéla Janská (born 1981 in Olomouc), who will reside in Rome from July 8, 2024, through August. Janská is currently showing at Half Gallery in New York. Her paintings explore femininity, depicting solitary figures with porcelain-like skin in dollhouse-like environments, navigating tension between exposure and concealment. She will produce a restitution exhibition in the same space in September 2024.
