Roland Restaurant Opens Inside Spazio Field at Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome

other · 2026-04-27

Andrea Azzarone has opened Roland, a restaurant within Spazio Field, a multidisciplinary cultural center housed in the historic Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome. The project occupies 1,800 square meters on the mezzanine floor, with an additional 1,000 square meters on the upper floor for private events. Claudio Libero Pisano serves as artistic curator, overseeing rotating contemporary art exhibitions, including Gioacchino Pontrelli's 'Fiume Affiatato' and works by Hooi Hwa Lim. The restaurant, named after Rolando Brancaccio, is located in two historic rooms with frescoed ceilings and period furnishings, plus a bright café area overlooking the garden. Chef Carlo Alberto d'Audino leads the kitchen, offering a menu that blends Mediterranean and Roman traditions with Asian influences, such as spaghettone with butter, anchovies, and katsuobushi. The café is open from 11 am to midnight, with a cocktail list focused on classic mixes and Bloody Marys, and a wine list of about 400 labels. A secret passage in the Winter Garden room leads to the garden, where a dehors will be set up in warmer months. The space previously housed the Museo d'Arte Orientale di Roma until 2017.
