other · 2026-04-19

At NAB 2026, Rode introduced Sonaura, a groundbreaking MEMS microphone measuring just four by five millimeters. This innovative device features a remarkable signal-to-noise ratio of 83dB and a minimal self-noise level of 11dBa, developed by Infineon in Germany. Peter Freedman AM, the Founder and Chairman of Freedman Group, expressed that this milestone was previously thought impossible, signifying a major leap in audio technology. Initially, Sonaura will debut in the Freedman Group's L1 lavalier microphone by Lectrosonics. Rode also launched the RodeLink II, a high-tech UHF wireless microphone system with dual-channel support and 32-bit float recording. New accessories like the LPA1 and DS3 studio arms were revealed, and the Rode Capture app will soon be available for Android. Additionally, RodeCaster Studio, an AI-powered app, is in beta for macOS and Windows. Pricing details are still pending.
