Rockin'1000 Launches Global Call for First Song Co-Created by 1,000 Musicians

Rockin'1000, the world's largest rock band with 30,000 members, has launched 'Mission S000ngwriting' to create the first original song composed for 1,000 musicians. The project follows their 2015 feat of assembling 1,000 musicians to convince Foo Fighters to perform in Cesena, Italy, and their promotion of the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. The co-creation effort involves a team including Australian Nic Cester (frontman of Jet), Italian producers Giulio Nenna and Andrea DB Debernardi, and Brazilian Daniel Plentz (Selton). Flyers with the call 'Wanted Songwriters' and a phone number have appeared in Milan, Rome, New York, Paris, and Mexico City. Calling the number connects to Cester and Rockin'1000 founder Fabio Zaffagnini, who provide instructions. The call is open until August 28, 2022, to both existing community members and newcomers, with no limits on geography, age, gender, or musical background. The project has three stages: composition, studio recording with hundreds of musicians, and release of the single with a music video.
