Rochelle Goldberg's Hybrid Creatures Invade GAMeC Bergamo
Rochelle Goldberg's installation "No Where, Now Here" at GAMeC in Bergamo transforms the gallery into a neutral brown environment with soft carpeting. The work features ceramic hybrid creatures blending snakes and pelicans, guarded by a white owl. Inspired by Giovanni Bellini's "Madonna del Prato," the installation was previously shown at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, but has been adapted for the GAMeC space. Curated by Sara Fumagalli and Stefano Raimondi, the piece explores fluidity and cannibalistic themes, where beasts consume the same ceramic modules they are made of. The work runs until January 15, 2017.
