Robot Festival Bologna: Luca Pozzi and IOCOSE Lead Acceleracionism-Themed Edition

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The eighth edition of Robot Festival, dedicated to electronic music and digital arts, runs from October 7 to 10 in Bologna, Italy. Alongside over 60 musical acts, the festival features more than 25 artistic projects spanning audiovisual performances and installations. A highlight is Luca Pozzi's electromagnetic installation 'One Church One Column,' displayed in the Cappella di Santa Maria dei Carcerati in Piazza Maggiore. The work consists of a luminescent sponge rising on an octagonal base, aligning with this year's theme of 'Acceleracionism.' The call4roBOt competition sought new works related to this theory. IOCOSE, a collective previously featured in the competition, presents 'Spinning The Planet,' a video installation imagining an acceleration of Earth's rotation. The work explores a fusion of pessimism and optimism, aiming to move 'faster towards the future, towards the evolution of humanity, towards an unknown difficult, disturbing, bizarre to predict.' The installation is viewable at Palazzo Re Renzo, the festival's headquarters, on Saturday at 7:30 PM.
