RoBOt Art Night Brings Electronic Music and Visual Art to Bologna's Palazzo Re Enzo

On February 2, 2019, RoBOt Festival presents RoBOt Art Night at Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna, coinciding with Art City White Night. The event features a debut Italian performance by the duo Tomat Petrella, comprising multi-instrumentalist Davide Tomat and jazz trombonist Gianluca Petrella, presenting their album Kepler (K7! label) with ambient, jazz, and techno sounds. DJ Ivan Smagghe, based in London, follows with electro, leftfield house, disco, and new wave. RBT Sound System residents close the night. Visual arts include a special project by Filippo Berta (b. 1977), selected by SetUp Contemporary Art Fair in collaboration with Club GAMeC and Galleria Massimodeluca. Berta shows his 2014 video La Retta Via, documenting a performance on a deserted beach, curated by Claudia Löffelholz (Fondazione Modena Arti Visive and LaRete Art Projects). The video explores the tension between intuitive-emotional nature and societal conditioning. Berta's solo show runs at Museo Ettore Fico in Turin until February 10. RoBOt Art Night tickets grant reduced entry to SetUp Contemporary Art Fair at Palazzo Pallavicini on February 3.
