Roberto Oliva Publishes Novelized Oasis History 'La grande attesa'

Music expert Roberto Oliva has released 'La grande attesa – Storia romanzata degli Oasis' (Arcana edizioni), a novelized account of the British band's career from their early days to the 2025 reunion tour. The book explores the Gallagher brothers' complex relationship, the band's cultural impact, and the working-class roots of Manchester. Oliva, author of two previous books on Britpop and rock, combines narrative fiction with factual history, drawing on his experience attending Oasis concerts in 2025, including the Wembley show on August 2. The 2025 reunion tour, announced in August 2024, comprised 41 concerts across iconic venues in Manchester, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, New York, and São Paulo, Brazil, where the final show ended with Noel and Liam embracing on stage. Oliva's book includes perspectives from other band members such as Alan McGee, Bonehead, Guigsy, and Alan White. The author notes the band's deliberate silence on social media as a strategy to build anticipation. Liam Gallagher has hinted at a possible continuation of the tour into 2026 via a cryptic tweet: 'Big announcement imminent.' The book also contextualizes Oasis within the Cool Britannia era, the Madchester scene, and the decline of traditional rock stardom.
