Roberto Maria Clemente: Graphic Design, Irony, and the Art of Communication
Roberto Maria Clemente, the founder of the Turin-based design studio FIONDA (previously known as Bellissimo, founded in 1998), reflects on his journey in graphic design. After completing his architecture studies at Politecnico di Torino, he launched the style magazine Label, which ran from 1998 to 2007. Since 2018, FIONDA has specialized in cultural communication. Clemente has been the Turin representative for Creative Mornings since 2015 and co-established FFLAG in 2017. He curated BemyCover, an exhibition featuring Penguin Random House book covers, which was later showcased at Strand bookstore in New York in 2018. His clientele includes Museo Egizio, Artissima, and Museo Ferrari, and he has also contributed to urban projects in Turin and designed for Milan's POP! magazine. Additionally, he teaches at NABA and the MADE Program, focusing on irony and improvisation in design.
