Roberto Jacoby's 'Huyamos a Buenos Aires' Exhibition at Museo Universitario del Chopo Explores 1980s Creative Resurgence

The 'Huyamos a Buenos Aires, nadie podrá encontrarnos' exhibition at Museo Universitario del Chopo in Mexico City showcases the work of Roberto Jacoby from 1968 to 1988. A significant figure in the Buenos Aires art scene, Jacoby stopped creating visual art in 1968 but continued to influence culture through his lyrics for the band Virus, theater, and efforts in community rebuilding after the dictatorship in 1983. The exhibition features documentation of his musical partnerships and emphasizes Body Party (1988), which included a jury of Marcia Schvartz and Pierre Restany. The highlight is the installation 'Huyamos a Buenos Aires, nadie podrá encontrarnos' (1988/2023), which presents a stage with projected visuals and self-portraits. It will be open until October 15, 2023.
