Roberto Cuoghi's 'M I R A C O L A' Joins Turin's Luci d'Artista After 4-Year Hiatus

exhibition · 2026-05-04

After a four-year hiatus, Turin has unveiled a new public light installation for its Luci d'Artista series. Named 'M I R A C O L A' and created by Roberto Cuoghi, this artwork is set to be illuminated on October 29, 2019, in Piazza San Carlo. Each hour from 9 PM to 1 AM, the square's lights will briefly dim for five seconds. The project required the consent of local residents and businesses, along with the coordination of all lighting elements. Commissioned in the summer of 2018 by the city's cultural department, it was developed in collaboration with Castello di Rivoli and other partners. This work pays tribute to Leonardo da Vinci's insights on light, marking the 500th anniversary of his passing, and will accompany 24 additional installations throughout Turin.
