Roberto Cuoghi cedes his Exchiesetta space to five emerging Puglian artists

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Roberto Cuoghi, born in Modena in 1973 and this year's Premio Pascali winner—an award established in 1969 by his family—has unveiled a unique initiative for his exhibition at Fondazione Pascali in Polignano a Mare. Rather than utilizing the Exchiesetta, a deconsecrated church located in the historic district, Cuoghi has invited five up-and-coming artists from Puglia to present solo exhibitions there until May 2026, coinciding with the conclusion of his own showcase. This collaboration, arranged with Giuseppe Teofilo, the museum director, includes interviews with each artist, featured on Artribune under "Sottovetro." The first artist highlighted is Arianna Ladogana, whose work explores themes like hydrofeminism and artificial intelligence. Their dialogue touches on her choice to stay in Puglia, her creative process, and the impact of algorithms on perception. Ladogana acknowledges influences from artists such as Rebecca Horn and Louise Bourgeois. This project transforms the Exchiesetta into a platform for new talent, visible only from the outside, while deepening Cuoghi's connection to the local art community.
