Roberto Cicutto appointed president of Venice Biennale, succeeding Paolo Baratta

Roberto Cicutto has been appointed as the new president of the Venice Biennale by Dario Franceschini, Italy's Culture Minister. He will oversee various cultural programs, including the art and architecture biennials, the annual film festival, and events in dance, music, and theatre. Cicutto takes over from Paolo Baratta, who held the position since 2008. With extensive experience in the film industry, he has served as the CEO and president of Istituto Luce-Cinecittà since 2009 and directed Rome's International Film Market from 2009 to 2014, along with founding several production companies. Franceschini, who has collaborated with Cicutto before, emphasized the importance of this role for Italian culture and wished him success.
