Roberto Capucci's 'Seriche Armature' at Labirinto della Masone

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The exhibition 'Seriche Armature' at the Labirinto della Masone in Fontanellato, Parma, explores the life and art of Roberto Capucci, one of Italy's most internationally renowned fashion designers. Curated by the Fondazione Roberto Capucci and Fondazione Franco Maria Ricci with Sylvia Ferino, the show marks the 30th anniversary of a monograph on Capucci published by FMR in the 'Luxe, calme et volupté' series. Capucci's sculptural creations, which have dressed icons like Marilyn Monroe, Gloria Swanson, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Rita Levi Montalcini (who wore one of his dresses to receive the 1986 Nobel Prize), are displayed in dialogue with artworks from the Labirinto's collection. Inspired by nature and Ovid's 'Metamorphoses', his collections such as 'Farfalle e Cerchi' and 'Variazioni nel Verde e Colore' experiment with form and color. Designer Antonio Marras called Capucci a 'transformer, a Houdini, a magician, an inventor, but above all a gardener, the prince of nature.' The exhibition also includes preparatory sketches. Sylvia Ferino noted that Capucci is 'more than a fashion creator: he is a director, architect, and perhaps even a playwright.' A new volume on Capucci has been published by FMR. The show runs until January 8, 2023.
