Roberto Bolle Teaches Dance Lesson to 1,600 in Milan's Piazza Duomo

On Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m., world-renowned ballet star Roberto Bolle led a classical dance lesson for over 1,600 dancers from 17 Italian regions in Piazza del Duomo, Milan. The event, called BalloinBianco, was organized by OnDance in collaboration with Assodanza Italia. This was the second edition; the first took place in 2021 with 200 dancers in the courtyard of the Rocchetta at Castello Sforzesco, all dressed in white and unaware of the choreography or music. During the lesson, Bolle delivered a message to Italian institutions, posted on his Instagram, urging that dance be valued as a key element of Italy's cultural and artistic heritage, and as a responsibility toward the hundreds of thousands of young people who dream of a professional future in dance in Italy. He thanked the participants for their enthusiasm and discipline, calling dance a school of life that forges body, mind, and soul.
