Robert Morris: Films and Videos at MART Rovereto
The MART in Rovereto presents 'Robert Morris: Films and Videos,' a monographic exhibition curated by Gianfranco Maraniello, Denis Isaia, and Ryan Roa, running until November 6, 2016. The show integrates video works with major installations and sculptures, including 'Slow motion' (1969), where performers crash through a glass door; 'Waterman switch/Waterman switch revisited' (1965-93), a theatrical piece shown from two angles; and 'Finch college project' (1969), pairing video with painted walls. A central hall features multiple videos such as 'Mirror' (1969), 'Wisconsin' (1970), and 'Site' (1964-93), alongside key sculptures: a Portal, suspended mirrors, 'Column' (1961), and a recent labyrinth. The exhibition also includes Morris's sadomasochistic self-portrait poster and 'Untitled' (1968) in the permanent collection. Concurrently, Milan's Galleria Fumagalli shows Morris's felt works in a group exhibition with Castellani, Noland, and Mangold until September 10, 2016.
