Rirkrit Tiravanija's 2022 Okayama Art Summit Explores Shared Dreams Across 27 Artists

The Okayama Art Summit of 2022, themed Do We Dream Under the Same Sky and helmed by Rirkrit Tiravanija, took place from September 30 to November 27, 2022, in Okayama, Japan. This event showcased the works of 27 artists across ten different venues, such as Uchisange Elementary School and the Orient Museum. The exhibition's title emphasized the theme of collective experiences. Previous editions were led by Liam Gillick in 2016 and Pierre Huyghe in 2019. Notable pieces featured included Rasel Ahmed's video Who Killed Taniya? (2020) and Vandy Rattana's The MONOLOGUE Trilogy (2015–19), alongside Shimabuku's video Swan Goes to the Sea (2012/14) and Precious Okoyomon's installation Touching My Lil Tail Till the Sun Notices Me (2022). The summit also highlighted local collaborations and a variety of languages.
