Ringo Starr Releases Country Album 'Long Long Road'

Ringo Starr, the former Beatles drummer, has released a new country album titled 'Long Long Road'. The 85-year-old musician collaborated with producer T Bone Burnett, who previously worked with Bob Dylan, and features guest artists including Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, and St Vincent. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville. Starr, who was knighted in 2018 as Sir Richard, prefers to be called Ringo. He discussed his love for country music, which he first encountered in Liverpool due to merchant navy workers bringing records from Texas. Starr only wrote two songs during his time with The Beatles: 'Don't Pass Me By' (1968) and 'Octopus's Garden'. He recently collaborated with Paul McCartney on a duet for McCartney's upcoming album 'The Boys of Dungeon Lane', due next month. Starr is planning a tour of the western US in May and June. Actor Barry Keoghan will portray Starr in Sam Mendes's upcoming four Beatles films, set for release in 2028. Keoghan met Starr in Los Angeles to 'hang out' rather than study his movements. Starr also visited the film set and noted the distinction between documentaries and films.
