Ringling Museum Names Skyler Dunbar 2026-2027 Eleanor Merritt Fellow

Skyler Dunbar has been named the Eleanor Merritt Fellow for the 2026–2027 term at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. As an emerging scholar, researcher, and arts administrator, Dunbar has experience in public education, exhibition curation, and community engagement. Her approach emphasizes curiosity and inclusivity, and she will lead cross-departmental projects and research that align with the museum's strategic goals. The Eleanor Merritt Fellowship, lasting between 9 to 12 months, aims to nurture future leaders in cultural heritage. Fellows collaborate with various departments, including Archives, Education, and Visitor Services, while developing their own research and career initiatives. Dunbar’s appointment will commence in 2026 at the Sarasota, Florida museum.
