Rimini Skyscraper Documentary Wins Award at Move Cine Arch Festival
The Grattacielo di Rimini, nearing its 60th anniversary, is the subject of a 2017 documentary by Italian filmmaker Marco Bertozzi titled 'Cinema Grattacielo'. The film combines footage from various formats including film, MiniDV, DvCam, Betacam, HD, and GoPro to reveal the complexity of the architectural complex, described as a 'living museum of 20th-century design' and a 'beehive of diverse belongings'. The documentary received the Award Best ISSUE at the Move Cine Arch festival, directed by Steve Bisson and founded in 2012 in Brazil by Filmessay and Olhar Periferico. The international jury, composed of Federica Andreoni, Jessica Auer, Martin Benavidez, Reinaldo Cardenuto, and Francesco Perrotta-Bosch, selected 21 films from 14 countries. The Award Winner 2018 went to 'The Visitors' by Rob Cartes (USA), and the Award Best FORM to 'When you return I’ll be living by the waters' by Petra Noordkamp (Netherlands). The award ceremony and screening of the three winning works will take place on Saturday, June 30 in Venice at Palazzo Mora at 6 PM. In September, all works will be presented in the Brazilian session, promoted in collaboration with Espaço Marieta, FAAP, and Instituto de Arquitetos do Brasil. In November, the festival will arrive in Paris, coinciding with ParisPhoto.
