Rimini Biennale del Disegno 2018: Il Visibile e Invisibile
The third edition of the Biennale del Disegno has opened in Rimini, running until July 15, 2018. The theme is 'Il Visibile e Invisibile. Desiderio e Passione', inspired by Paul Klee's concept of drawing as leading a line for a walk. Organized by the Comune di Rimini and Musei Comunali, the event transforms the historic center into a large exhibition space with over 30 shows across venues including Castel Sismondo, Museo della Città, Cinema Fulgor, FAR, Domus del Chirurgo, and Palazzo Gambalunga. Highlights include Vanessa Beecroft's 'Disegni Americani' at FAR, featuring large-scale works of nude female figures and burka-clad silhouettes. At Castel Sismondo, two erotic-themed exhibitions compare Pablo Picasso (over 60 engravings from 1968 illustrating Fernando de Rojas) and Federico Fellini (42 unpublished drawings donated to Tonino Guerra during the filming of Casanova). At Museo della Città, 'Delineavit. Guercino e il caso del Falsario' presents over 100 works by Guercino and his forger Francesco Novelli. Additional shows include 'Le Carte della Follia' from the Biblioteca di Fermo by Fortunato Duranti and 'La Poetica del Minuscolo' by Stefano Della Bella. The program spans ancient and modern drawing, comics, architecture, calligraphy, graphics, painting, street art, and cinema.
