Rijksmuseum to open first satellite branch in Eindhoven with ASML partnership

The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam will establish its inaugural satellite location in Eindhoven, with an opening projected within six to eight years. ASML, a chip manufacturer headquartered in Veldhoven, and the Municipality of Eindhoven are founding partners of this initiative. Situated in a park near the Dommel River and Central Station, the new museum will showcase pieces from the Rijksmuseum's holdings, emphasizing creativity and craftsmanship. According to Taco Dibbits, the Rijksmuseum's director, this expansion aims to enhance accessibility to the collection in the southern Netherlands. Jeroen Dijsselbloem, Eindhoven's mayor, noted that the institution will enrich Brabant's cultural scene and serve as a unifying element in the Brainport region. The announcement highlights a strategic move to broaden the museum's reach beyond its Amsterdam base.
