Riemergere: EUR's Cultural Revival with Nuvola as Hub

The EUR district in Rome launches 'Riemergere', a year-long cultural program from September 15, 2021 to June 29, 2022, transforming the Nuvola convention center and Palazzo dei Congressi into a new cultural hub. Organized by EUR Culture per Roma and EUR S.p.A. with artistic direction by Oscar Pizzo, the program features over 600 artists including Patti Smith, Bill Viola, Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, Romeo Castellucci, and a group show with de Chirico, Guttuso, Zeffirelli, Calder, and Kentridge. Public art installations include Guido Iannuzzi's 'Bauhaus Think-Tank' (a repurposed tank symbolizing solidarity) at Parco del Laghetto dello Chalet del Lago until December 31, 2021; a commission by photographer Don McCullin for the empty niche on Palazzo dei Congressi's facade (originally intended for Francesco Messina's 'Quadriga della Vittoria Fascista'), on view February 16–March 9, 2022; and Janet Echelman's monumental installation 'Noli Timere' in the Nuvola foyer from November 18 to December 8, 2021. The initiative aims to establish EUR as a permanent cultural destination in Rome.
