Richter Fine Art Opens in Rome with Inaugural Group Show
Tommaso Richter, a 30-year-old collector from a family of antique dealers, has opened Richter Fine Art in Rome's historic artistic district near Castel Sant'Angelo, between Via Giulia and the Palazzaccio. The gallery occupies a renovated blacksmith's workshop adjacent to the family's antique space. The inaugural exhibition, 'Non amo che le rose che non colsi' (I love only the roses I did not pick), curated by Saverio Verini, takes its title from a line in Guido Gozzano's 1911 poem collection 'I Colloqui'. The group show features five painters: Silvia Argiolas (b. 1977), Dario Carratta (b. 1988), Luca Grechi (b. 1985), Emilio Leofreddi (b. 1958), and Giuliano Sale (b. 1977). On the ground floor, each artist presents a large-scale work; downstairs, pairs of smaller works offer deeper insight into their practices. The gallery aims to be a 'laboratory' for experimentation in painting. The exhibition runs from October 18 to December 23, 2016.
