Richard Photo District: Three Photographers Map Milan's Urban Transformation
Launched in Milan during Milano Photo Week in 2019, Richard Photo District has chosen three photographers to capture the surroundings of the former Richard Ginori factory. Curated by Alberto Accettura, this project investigates how photography can narrate the evolution of a neighborhood. In April 2022, an open call prompted photographers to document the area stretching from Naviglio Grande to Via Ettore Ponti and from Cavalcavia Don Lorenzo Milani to Ponte della Circonvallazione di Via Cassala. The photographers selected for this initiative are Benedetta Ristori, Filippo Poli, and Federica Cocciro. With support from partners such as Perimetro, Accademia di Comunicazione, and Comune di Milano, local academy students are also involved in photographing residents from the Richard, Barona, and Giambellino districts.
