Richard Nonas's stone sculptures fill P420 gallery in Bologna

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Richard Nonas (New York, 1936) presents his second solo exhibition at P420 gallery in Bologna, following his 2011 show 'No-water-in'. The new space is radically different in size and character. Unlike the earlier predominance of wooden works, this exhibition features large stone sculptures, each composed of two stone slabs arranged in ordered repetition. The modular grid creates a spatial framework where other works are placed in alternation of solids and voids. The title references the continuous flow of life, echoing the hidden waters flowing near the gallery.
