Rice University Expands Free Tuition to Families Earning Up to $200K

Rice University, located in Houston, Texas, has revealed an enhancement to its financial aid offerings, which will provide free tuition for students hailing from families with annual incomes between $100,000 and $200,000, starting with the class of 2027. This update builds on the institution's earlier initiative that granted free tuition to families earning from $75,000 to $140,000 and included coverage for tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board for those earning up to $75,000 (now increased to $100,000). This effort is part of Rice's larger mission to improve accessibility in higher education and also influences its growing arts undergraduate programs, aiming to lessen financial obstacles for middle- and upper-middle-class families.
