Riccardo Muti Returns to Fondazione Prada for Don Giovanni Academy
Riccardo Muti returns to Fondazione Prada in Milan from November 19 to 30, 2025, for the third edition of the Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy, focusing on Mozart's Don Giovanni. The academy, founded in 2015 by Riccardo Muti Music, offers public lessons and open rehearsals in a concert hall set up within the deposito space at Largo Isarco. Young conductors and piano collaborators aged 18–25, selected via an international call, will work with the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini. The program includes a lecture-concert on November 19, open rehearsals from November 20–23 and 25–26, a final rehearsal on November 27, and a sold-out concert on November 30 conducted by Muti. PwC offers a special €5 ticket for students through the PwC Young Program. This edition follows previous collaborations on Verdi's Nabucco (2021) and Bellini's Norma (2023). Muti described Mozart as a composer whose works represent human feelings without judgment, calling him the consolation of life. Don Giovanni, composed in 1787, premiered at the Teatro degli Stati in Prague on October 29, 1787, under Mozart's direction.
