Riccardo Beretta creates limited edition works for The Blank Benefit

On Thursday, December 15, The Blank Contemporary Art, a private cultural entity located in Bergamo, hosted its annual fundraising event at Spazio ALT in Alzano Lombardo. The proceeds support the organization’s initiatives and network. This year, artist Riccardo Beretta, born in 1982 in Mariano Comense, CO, created a collection of fifty unique pieces along with five artist proofs titled "Arazzetto GQ, 2016." Each piece, honoring the bicentennial of architect Giacomo Quarenghi's death, can be obtained for a minimum donation of 350 euros. Beretta's commission aimed to explore Quarenghi's legacy, linking it to his earlier works on notable art figures. Curator Stefano Raimondi facilitated Beretta's understanding of Quarenghi's challenging life. Additionally, Spazio ALT features an exhibition of Beretta's "Rose Windows" series, which showcases intricate layers of stained and natural wood. The benefit has become a model for private cultural self-sustainability, following last year’s event with contributions from artists like Alis/Filliol and Francesco Arena.
